Dear folks, down home, it's Christmas time, my heart aches to be near. Though I must write again to say I can't come home this year. I know that mother cares the most and to her I will say, "My loving thoughts I send to you upon this Christmas Day."

I think of home and mother when it's Christmas time, and I know that she'll be waiting when the joy bells chime. You'll never have another who will love you like your mother, so I think of home and mother when it's Christmas time.

I'll add this postscript just for her, whom I call mother dear, "Although I'm far away from you, in thought I'm very near. So join the youngsters at their play and revel in their mirth, for you have won the greatest love which makes you Queen of Earth."

Mother's heart and mother's eyes, show me where contentment lies. And the truth of mother's love, shows me proof of One above.
